Carolyn Swabek

Carolyn discovered her love for yoga after being dragged to a community center class by her mom while she was in high school, and has been practicing ever since. In 2010, after moving to Milwaukee from Cincinnati, OH for graduate school, she discovered Iyengar, and finally dedicated herself to a regular practice. Shortly after moving down to Bayview in 2013, Carolyn found Healium and dove into Vinyasa. In 2015 Carolyn entered the Yoga Teacher Training program at Kanyakumari, and under the direction of Sarah Filzen, she was certified in June 2016.

Carolyn loves teaching students of all ages, abilities, and experiences, and wants to increase the accessibility of yoga to all who can benefit from this beautiful practice of aligning mind, body and spirit. She truly believes yoga is a practice for every body. Her classes incorporate pranayama, strength, creativity, fun playlists, and a sense of humor. Off the mat, you can find Carolyn in her day job at Marquette University, volunteering for social justice causes, digging in the garden, riding her bike, or dancing at a concert.
