Yoga Nidra Guided Meditation

Join Meg Pauline & The Heart Revival one Sunday of each month during the months of September through December for a Guided Yoga Nidra Meditation practice. Workshops begin at 7:30pm and end at 8:45pm. All levels are welcome as this practice is accessible for all students.

Yoga Nidra is an ancient form of meditation. It means yogic sleep or conscious deep sleep. Within meditation, one remains in the waking state of consciousness, and gently focuses the mind, while allowing throught patterns, emotions, sensations and images to arise and go on. In Nidra, you leave the waking state, go past the dreaming state, and go to deep sleep, yet remain awake. There is a paradox in this: going to sleep, yet still being fully awake seems impossible, yet this is exactly what happens.

Relaxation happens at all levels: senses, body, breath, conscious and unconscious mind. The relaxation that comes with alpha and theta levels of the brain can be extremely useful for mental, emotional and physical health.
