This event is a Healium 300 hour Yoga Teacher Training Module; it is also available for 13 Continuing Education Credits* with Yoga Alliance. ALL curious students are welcome!
Join Heather Burkart, eRYT 500, for Fostering Yoga Community/Seva Yoga: In Service of the Underserved on Saturday May 30th from 10:00am-4:30pm at Healium Restore and online from 10:00am-1:00pm on Sunday May 31st.
In this this workshop, participants will learn how to establish and manage an online, in-person, or hybrid yoga community through membership programs. We will also explore the foundations of marketing and how to build content to attract and retain clients as well as looking at existing memberships and building your own around a personal topic of interest. Open practicum time is included during the weekend for participants to work on their personal project and/or practice teach.
Sunday’s Seva Yoga: In Service of the Underserved will be a three hour virtual class (link will be sent during the weekend training) You will learn how to reframe their teaching to avoid personal bias and unintentional discrimination as well as how to develop, market, and teach inclusive yoga classes for underserved groups in your community. Required homework (on your own time): Teach (3) 1-hour classes in a non-traditional yoga setting like a classroom, community center, senior center, etc.
Sign up for Saturday May 30th ONLY, you will be registered for both days. Attendance in-person, at the virtual class and homework completion required for full credit.
*Important: Credit can be applied towards the 300 hour teaching certification or Yoga Alliance Continuing Education credit, not both. To receive 300 hour credit, you must be formally enrolled in Healium’s 300 hour advanced training program prior to this class.
